Morning arrival in South Africa, your guide will meet you upon arrival at at Johannesburg’s O R Tambo International Airport. Visit “The Cradle of Humankind – Sterkfontein Caves”, a World Heritage Site- for a guided tour through the evolution of man. Time for lunch before continuing on to Muldersdrift, just outside Pretoria. Dinner will be served at the famous Carnivore restaurant, which is one of only two of its kind in the world.
Travel via Middelburg, Dullstroom, Lydenburg (Mashishing) to Hazyview situated in the province of Mpumalanga, exploring en route the scenic wonders of the Panorama Route. The cylindrical potholes at Bourke’s Luck, scenic views from God’s Window and breathtaking Blyde River Canyon – third deepest in the world rivaling America’s Grand Canyon. Overnight in the beautiful Sabie River Valley near Hazyview.
Today is spent with a local ranger on an included open vehicle safari in the Kruger National Park (20 000 km² of pristine African bush) in search of the “Big 5” and a host of other animals. Overnight near Hazyview.
Free to relax or try a new adventure: river rafting on Lower Sabie River (depending on local conditions), “kloofing” or “canyoning” down river over waterfalls & cliffs or exploring the bush on a 4WD quad bike or “tree topping” – zipline. This evening if local conditions permit, you may like to visit Shangana traditional village to learn about the life, customs and traditions of the Shangaan people, visit the local healer and watch their singing and dancing while sharing a traditional feast in typical huts.
Drive to the Moholoholo Animal Rehabilitation Centre, which is dedicated to the conservation of endangered species & rehabilitation of injured and orphaned wildlife. Then visit the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre (Kapama Cheetah Breeding & Research Centre). Overnight & dinner at the Karongwe private game reserve roamed by the Big Five: lion, leopard, elephant, rhino & buffalo.
After an early morning game drive in an open vehicle in the reserve, we depart for the world-renowned Kruger National Park (KNP), enter the park through Phalaborwa Gate, spend the rest of the day in the KNP. Overnight in the KNP.
Enjoy a full day traveling north through the KNP. The KNP is known to be the most diverse park in the world with 140 mammals, 119 reptiles, ± 506 bird, 55 amphibians and ± 1980 plant species. Dinner will be a traditional “braai” – barbeque prepared by your guide. Overnight in the KNP.
Still in the far northern reaches of the KNP, we do a guided tour on foot with the parks ranger to the Thulamela Ruins, former seat of wicked King Ingwe and beautiful Queen Losha, visit Crook’s Corner on the border between South Africa, Zimbabwe and Mozambique. Dinner will be a traditional “potjie” – stew prepared by your guide – good luck. Overnight in the park.

Depart from the park via Punda Maria Gate. Travel to Tzaneen, visit Modjadji Cycad Forest Reserve, see the oldest and largest baobab tree in the world – with a pub inside its trunk!!, and visit Sapeco Tea Estate, lunch on the estate at the Pekoe View Tea Garden. Overnight in the beautiful Magoebaskloof Valley.
Travel to Warmbaths (Bela Bela) via Pietersburg (Polokwane), on route we visit Bakone Malapa a Northern Sotho living museum and “Elephant Back Safaris” for an elephant interaction with these amazing creatures – optional elephant back ride. Overnight near Warmbaths.
Travel to Johannesburg, catch your flight to Cape Town. Your guide will meet you on arrival in Cape Town and he / she will transfer you to your hotel. Dinner can be enjoyed at one of the numerous excellent restaurants on the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. Overnight in Cape Town on the V & A Waterfront.

Travel to Johannesburg, catch your flight to Cape Town. Your guide will meet you on arrival in Cape Town to transfer you to your hotel, afternoon at leisure. Dinner can be enjoyed at one of the numerous restaurants on the V & A Waterfront. Overnight in Cape Town.
Take a scenic drive around the “Cape Peninsula”. Visit Hout Bay and the Cape Fur Seal colony on Duiker Island, Chapman’s Peak Pass, Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, Cape of Good Hope, Cape Point and Boulders – Penguins. Optional and weather permitting – we take the cableway up Table Mountain. Evening at leisure. Overnight in Cape Town on the V & A Waterfront.

A day at leisure, where you can do the following optional activities – a city orientation tour of South Africa’s beautiful Mother City on the “hop-on hop-off bus” or visit a local township or visit Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 17 years or visit to Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens or visit one of the numerous beautiful beaches around the Cape or for the energetic – take a hike up Table Mountain or for the brave – shark cage diving. Evening at leisure. Overnight in Cape Town on the V & A Waterfront.
Wine tastings and a cellar tour at various wine estates along the Cape’s world-renowned Stellenbosch Wine Route, also spend some time in the picturesque and historical towns of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. Enjoy your farewell dinner at Vijff Vlieghen (Five Flies) Restaurant. Overnight in Cape Town on the V & A Waterfront.
Morning at leisure. Lunch at the V & A Waterfront, time for last minute shopping and weather permitting an optional helicopter flip over the “Cape Peninsula”. Transfer to Cape Town International Airport for your flight home.
