Morning arrival in South Africa, your guide will meet you upon arrival at Johannesburg’s O R Tambo International Airport. Depart to Pretoria (Jacaranda Capital) for a city tour that includes the Voortrekker Monument, Paul Kruger House, Church Square and Union Buildings. Lunch in Pretoria, before checking-in at our charming little lodge near the airport. Dinner will be served at the lodge.

Depart to Hluhluwe via Ermelo and Piet Retief. Overnight on the Bonamanzi private game reserve in Zululand.
This morning you have an option of joining the ranger on a game walk, rest of the morning at leisure. This afternoon we travel to the Hluhluwe / Umfolozi Game Reserve, in by-gone years this reserve was the hunting grounds of Zulu Kings. Spend the rest of day on an open vehicle safari in search of the “Big 5” and a host of other animals. Dinner at the camp’s restaurant. Overnight on the Bonamanzi private game reserve in Zululand.
Take a cruise on the St Lucia estuary, a lake riddled with crocodiles and hippos in the Greater St Lucia Wetlands, which is also one of South Africa’s six UNESCO world heritage sites. Depart after the cruise to Shakaland. Lunch will be available at the hotel before check-in. Enjoy Zulu hospitality at its best with a traditional Zulu festival and feast at Shakaland. Overnight in the beautiful “Nkwalini Valley”.
Early departure for a day of history and battlefields, visit places that still exude an ambience of a once mighty Zulu nation, such as the “Battle of Blood River”, the Anglo-Zulu war battlefields of Isandlwana and Rorke`s Drift. Overnight in Dundee.

Travel to Umhlanga, the rest of the day at leisure in Umhlanga with its golden beaches washed by the warm Indian Ocean in a sub – tropical setting. Overnight in Umhlanga.
Today we drive to Giants Castle in the Natal Drakensburg Mountains, also known as the “barrier of spears” via the historical city of Pietermaritzburg, stop for lunch at Howick waterfall. All meals are served at the lodge’s restaurant. Overnight in the Natal Drakensberg Mountains.
A day at leisure in the beautiful Natal Drakensburg Mountains where San (Bushmen) left their life stories in the form of paintings and drawings on the rocks and in the caves. Visit Giants Castle cave for a guided tour or take a walk along one of the numerous nature trails in this park. Dinner at the lodges restaurant. Overnight in the Natal Drakensberg Mountains.
Travel the “Oliviershoek Pass” to the village of Clarens and the Golden Gate Highlands National Park. Spend the afternoon relaxing at the hotel or take a walk along one of the numerous nature trails in the park.
Optional activities: Horse riding or game drives are available.
Drive back to Johannesburg the commercial hub of South Africa. Township tour of Soweto – reflex on the “Apartheid” era of South Africa’s history. There will be time for last minute shopping before your departure.

Travel to Johannesburg, catch your flight to Cape Town. Your guide will meet you on arrival in Cape Town and he / she will transfer you to your hotel. Dinner can be enjoyed at one of the numerous excellent restaurants on the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. Overnight in Cape Town on the V & A Waterfront.
Take a scenic drive around the “Cape Peninsula”. Visit Hout Bay and the Cape Fur Seal colony on Duiker Island, Chapman’s Peak Pass, Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, Cape of Good Hope, Cape Point, Boulders – Penguins. Lunch along the way. A day at leisure, where you can do the following optional activities – a city orientation tour of South Africa’s beautiful Mother City on the “hop-on hop-off bus” or visit a local township or visit Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 17 years or visit to Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens or visit one of the numerous beautiful beaches around the Cape or for the energetic – take a hike up Table Mountain or for the brave – shark cage diving. Evening at leisure. Overnight in Cape Town on the V & A Waterfront.

Wine tasting and cellar tour at one of the wine estates along the Cape’s world-renowned Stellenbosch Wine Route, also spend some time in the picturesque and historical towns of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. Enjoy your farewell dinner at Vijff Vlieghen (Five Flies) Restaurant. Overnight in Cape Town on the V & A Waterfront.
Morning at leisure. Lunch at the V & A Waterfront, time for last minute shopping and weather permitting an optional helicopter flight over the “Cape Peninsula”. Transfer to Cape Town International Airport in order for you to catch your flight home.
